Anna is at a crossroads in her life. Her boyfriend has broken up with her, she’s at a job that doesn’t do much for her and she knows there are changes that she needs to make. Partly out of boredom and partly as a gift for her friend Dale, Anna decides to start an online journal. What begins as just a few silly stories starts a new adventure of sorts when Anna’s stories turn her into a character she refers to as Anna K. Anna K. becomes a celebrity and her fan vary from people that understand exactly where she’s coming from to young girls that idolize her and everything in between. When on fan finds a way to get close to Anna she discovers that the world of online journals can be both an amazing and scary place and she is forced to decide if she wants to stay where she is or embrace the new Anna K.
I will tell you all right now that this is my favorite book. I first read it a few years ago after a recommendation from a friend. This was before blogging is as big a it is now. I loved the stories that Anna told in the book, I loved that she had no idea what she was getting into my writing an online journal and I loved how her character developed. She’s someone I could very easily identify with and still can. I’d say I’ve reread this book about half a dozen times and every time I do I find myself giggling out loud and wishing that the characters were real. The best part is that this book is about BLOGGING. Which is why I can’t recommend it to all of you enough. It may not be a classic or the deepest book you’ll ever read. But it’s about a girl who blogs and finds relationships from it. And isn’t that what we’re all doing? Check it out and I promise you’ll find yourself laughing out loud too.
