What’s Up?

Sooo… I have a lot going on in my brain right now.  I figured today would be a good day to just recap everything.

Work – Well, Best Buy finally called me yesterday let me know that new hire orientation is next Thursday.  I’m anxious to get to it (and to bring in some more money) so Thursday cannot come fast enough!  Meanwhile, Maurices is kind of slow right now.  I’m not working a whole lot so it makes it hard to be pumped to be there when I do work, especially with Best Buy being all new and shiny and exciting.

School – School is going okay.  I can definitely feel myself running low on steam but with how expensive my tuition is I refuse to do poorly.  Two of my classes, intro to business and customer services strategies, are pretty easy but I can still totally apply them to my job.  MS Office, though, is the worst class on the face of the planet.  It’s time consuming, totally boring and because all you do is follow rules out of the book I’m not learning anything.  Ready for it to be OVER.

NaNo – Still going strong!  I feel like a rockstar right now and it is an AMAZING feeling!

Family – My folks are currently in Jamaica right now (I know, I hate them too, I expect them to bring me home some coffee and rum) so we’re watching their dog Lucy.  She’s been with us since last… Thursday, I think?  I can’t remember.  Anyway, aside from her randomly waking up one night and throwing up (thanks Lucy) she’s been really good.  Also, my brother and his girlfriend Jen are visiting us this weekend.  And I am SO SO excited for Thanksgiving because it’ll be my folks, brother and in-laws all here.  So that’ll be lots of fun!

Friends – Well I am super excited because next weekend I’m having some wonderful blog ladies over here for a potluck get together.  Plus the always awesome Sara is staying the night (Dustin is a little petrified of all that craziness) and the next day we’re hitting up Ikea.  I’ve been trying to really put aside my trust issues when it comes to friends and thus far I’m finding myself to be a lot more trusting.  Its been an interesting year as far as friendships have gone but I think right now I can honestly say that things are good.

Hating 2010 – I know I’ve said more than once than 2010 has not been my year.  Honestly, with only 2 more months to go I’m ready for it to be over.  Job loss and friend issues and money problems have just made this year a total and absolute dud.  So I am incredibly hopeful that when this year is over 2011 will emerge as the year of awesomeness.  I deserve that, right?

Blogging – That said, as much as 2010 has not been a great year, it has been good for one thing: blogging.  Seriously, what can I say?  I love the blog world and I love all of you.  Thanks for making me smile!

More soon!

At least the last 2 months are the best months of the year, except for the snow, ugh.

I can't wait for next weekend… do you have any idea what people are bringing to eat? email me.

In all honesty, it really sounds like things could be worse for you – so focus on that for the next 2 months!

I'm pumped to hear about your Thanksgiving plans. We're hosting both families as well and I can't wait. Sure, I'm nervous, but I'm stoked to have everyone together.

And you know, sometimes we have a really sh*tty year, but fortunately you have blogging and school and now NaNo to keep your mind focused and chugging right along. Here's to a bigger and better 2011 for all of us.

Montego Bay is awesome! The hubby(who is also Jamaican) and I returned home to Jamaica for vacay about three years ago. We hung out in Kingston(the capital) for a week and visited with friends and family. We then flew out to Negril and really enjoyed the rest of our trip/vacay. We stayed at the Grand Lido which was heavenly!

Aww I want to attend the bloggy potluck! Glad you're excited about BB and rocking on the writing. You will get through school. After all that some day soon, you will also be partying in the islands like your parents!

wow, so much in your life! but it sounds like a lot of good things, i mean minus the MS Office class. i imagine that would be the worst class on the planet. unless there's a class called "Eating Nothing But The Food You Hate The Most For 3 Hours Straight 101." just trying to put things into perspective. :)

    yay 2011!

Oh yeah…I could use some rum right about now!!! And yes on blogging and blog friends – it's been a good year. :) One thing is for sure though, this year has gone by like crazy!!! Can't believe I bought XMas stuff today…wow!

DANG, lady. you are ROCKING the words!

i'm sure school will get more interesting once you get that pesky compu class outta the way.

i am SO ready for '10 to be over too! it's been a crap year — except for blogging. blogging is goooood. :)

Dude, I would love to be somewhere warm and tropical right now. With winter coming on strong, I am dreading the cold so much. ]=

I'm glad you are still doing good with Nano! Keep it up!

I have a love/hate relationship with this past year, but I am definitely ready for it to be over and done with, too.

Aww looks like you've got a lot of awesome stuff going on. I can't wait for the holidays either. I'm kinda psyched and as much as I love Christmas, I don't want to rush Thankxg either.

  17. says

I've been absent from the blogosphere for a while… you're working at Best Buy!? I've worked there for almost three years now :) What department are you going to be in??

  18. says

You deserve the most amazing 2011! I'm happy to start afresh myself too. How lovely you can fit in some friend time soon (makes up for not being in Jamaica with your folks, I'm envious of them! :)). And that is so awesome about the writing!

  19. says

So I know I'm a little (okay, a lot) behind on blogging so don't be surprised if you get a few comments on your past posts in the next couple minutes :)
Anyways- CONGRATULATIONS on getting the job at Best Buy. From what I hear, it is an amazing company to work for. They pay well and treat their employees with respect.
How and why would your folks go to Jamaica and not bring you? I think that has to be illegal or something… :)

  20. says

It's great to hear about how everything has been going for you. Hard to believe that 2011 is right around the corner, but I agree that it's fantastic to think about the new year!
