Well first and foremost, I had to do a drug test for my new job. That was interesting. I’ve never had to do a drug test before and it was definitely a little weird, almost like being treated like a criminal when you haven’t done anything. But it’s done so hopefully I’ll get a call in the next few days so I can start my orientation, yay!
After that I headed to Roseville where I always meet up with Sara before we go to a concert. I got there early so I got to hang out in Borders looking at books for awhile and then it was time for our favorite restaurant, Flame. Sara ordered a quesadilla, which looked amazing, and I had 3 mini burgers which were amazing. And of course we both got fries because the fries at Flame are AWESOME. For dessert we split a slice of cheesecake, which our good friend Ang suggested. Yum it was AMAZING. I love love cheesecake and this definitely did not disappoint. Plus, once again we had fabulous service and I adore the atmosphere of Flame. If you’re in the area definitely stop by, it won’t disappoint.
Then we headed to the Target Center. Oh my gosh, I love concerts. We both got the same t-shirt because even though money is tight for me Maroon 5 is one of my all time favorite bands. And the t-shirt we picked out is so cute!
There were two opening acts, the first of which was Ry Cuming. Sara and I hadn’t heard of him but we were pleasantly surprised. He’s from Australia (yummy accent) and he put on a great performance. I definitely plan on checking out more of his music and suggest you all do the same.
Then came OneRepublic, who I love. They of course put on an amazing performance and played a lot of the songs that I love as well as a mash-up that was a bizarre mix but ended up working. They did what an opening act is supposed to do: got the crowd totally excited. Oh man, they were definitely awesome.
And then finally there’s Maroon 5. So I have been a fan of these guys since their Songs About Jane album was new. Adam Levine is ridiclously sexy and I make no secret of the fact that I have the major hots for him. Dustin knows that if I ever run into Adam someday and Adam asks me to run away with him I’ll be gone (sorry Dustin, you know you’d do the same thing is Kate Beckinsale asked you). Anyway, this is the 3rd time I’ve seen Maroon 5 in concert and they get better and better every time. You can tell that they love what they do and damn do they do it well. At their second concert I was happy that they played not only songs from their latest CD but also songs from their first CD as well as a few songs from other artists thrown in. This concert was no different and they played their older stuff as well as their new stuff AS WELL as a fantastic rendition of Al Green’s Lets Stay Together. And if you’re like my crazy husband and you don’t know who Al Green is just do yourself a favor and find out. Or else we can’t be friends anymore.
I had an amazing time on Thursday and I managed to make it home in one piece. And all I can do is sit here and feel that concert itch. And more than that all I want to do is jam to Maroon 5 all day. Those boys are FANTASTIC. Not to mention that Sara is totally my concert buddy, which I love.
